A hiking with indefinable fun

Sanga! We always have indefinable fun every time we be there, and with such lovely weather and aspiring will of the interns, the Saturday hike was sure to be a cherry on the cake. We left home at 10 in the morning, 10 of us. We took a bus to Sanga stop, and got down there. Walking straight up the countryside road, with lovely landscapes and views of corn fields on our either sides, we got to a place where local people were hanging a spicy food we call “Titaura”, which is very tangy to our taste buds. Then we walked about half an hour to get to the Sanga Mahadev, the tallest statue of Lord Shiva in South Asia, and probably one of the tallest ones in the world. For us, it was just another hike, but for our new faces, it was something much more than a hike. They were amazed of the stunning view from the top, and of course at the creation of the statue.

We clicked a lot of pictures, got and delivered some details about the Sanga Mahadev and walked downhill, for it was time to have lunch now. We entered to one of the restaurants there. After almost 2 hours, at 3pm, we walked back to Sanga chowk and walked straight uphill from there. On our way there was a very beautiful village called “Namuna Gaun”(Unique Village). We talked to one of the watchmen and promised to enter into the house once we come back. Then, we walked up ahead a tiring path, a typical Nepali road. We had lovely view of the valley straight ahead our eyes. Taking a very very narrow, yet  a fun path on the side of the main road, we found some of the villagers  working in their paddy and buckwheat fields.

We talked to them about the place, their lifestyle and interns were amazed to know all of that. Walking past scarecrows on the fields, we headed the same way back. On our way back, we found some children playing cricket and football in groups, a subject for our interns to take some good pictures. After a 10 minute rest,we went inside the Namuna Gaun, and actually all of us were stunned with the concept there. Appreciably well-built, this village really was going to be unique. Yes, “was going to be” because some of the houses are still in construction. Then, we walked all the way back to the Sanga chowk, where on the side of the road there were some children playing swings, and interns joined them, a totally new experience. Then, we took a bus and were back to our house.

Hence, always a fun , a Saturday hike, we expect much more of course like we always do and like we always have achieved, experiences and memories.
