A discussion program with Families of Disappeared by State

Eka Raj Bhandari, the former member of Parliament and the chairman of  Association for family of fighter disapeared by state in an interaction program with the Human Rights interns at Internship Nepal highlighted on how his son was disappeared by the state. Eka Raj Bhandari is leader of CPN Maoist and has also remained CA member ( Member of Constitution Assembly) in 2008.

His son Bipin Bhandari was student leader at Amrit Science Campus in Kathmandu. Bhandari highlighted the Maoist agendas and political movement since 2008. He also informed that since the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) was signed in 2006, families have demanded the disclosure of truth.

However, these demands go unanswered and the more time passes, the more difficult it becomes to sustain the necessary pressure on the Nepal government to hold the perpetrators accountable. The Human Rights Interns raised different question about the disappeared families and further process. They also raised several questions about the Peace process in Nepal. Bhandari shared the process of formation of law in Nepal and how the CA works in terms of bringing new provisions and how bill is issued as ordinance.
